Coaching and professionals
All of Wentworth’s tennis coaches are qualified LTA and/or USPTR Teaching Professionals. Coaching is available for all levels of ability and age groups and in a variety of different formats; from individual one-one-one sessions, to group coaching or match analysis sessions and video analysis. LTA CCA & USPTR coach
Lisa has been a professional at Wentworth Club since summer 1998 and currently has 17 years coaching experience. As a junior Lisa represented Hampshire County, competed in tournaments throughout the UK and experienced training & competition in USA (Orange Bowl World Junior Championships), Sweden (National Training Academy), France, Tunisia and Spain.
James Birtwistle
Acting Head Tennis Professional
LTA CCA & USPTR coach
An experienced coach of 10 years and has been at Wentworth for 4 years. Played county tennis as a junior and senior for Norfolk and competed in LTA tournaments throughout the country. James has coached juniors from beginner standard through to county and national standard.
Michael Cooper

LTA CCA coach
Ex-scholar of the Wentworth Club, Michael joined the team in January 2005 having had 2 years experience of coaching after competing internationally on a full time program. Whilst playing full time, Michael trained at the Tennis Academy London (Sutton). Played in National Club League tennis for 3 years and reached an LTA rating of 2.1
Robert Green

LTA DCA Coach
Played professional tennis for 3 years, competing all over the world. Before coming to Wentworth, Robert was a traveling coach/sparring partner for the British No 1 female tennis player, Anne Keothavong. As a junior Robert competed throughout the UK and internationally, whilst on the Wentworth scholarship program. Robert competed in junior Wimbledon at the age of 17, alongside other junior competitors such as Roger Federer.
Stuart Rogers

Stuart has been coaching for 8 years and played county tennis both at junior and senior level. He competed nationally in various junior tournaments, where he reached a high 305 in the world at singles and 150 in doubles at the Under 18 level. Stuart also achieved a players rating of 2.2
Alex Clapp

UPSTR coach
Alex joined the Wentworth team in 2001 and not only teaches 3 days on the court but is also a part-time Wentworth Fitness Consultant. As a junior Alex played county tennis for Sussex and in 2006 represented Putney tennis club in National Club League tennis.
Craig Thompson

Craig is a professional coach with over 15 years experience teaching all ages, abilities and standards in both the UK and the US. As well as teaching at Wentworth and in the local area, Craig assists in the training and certification of new coaches for the PTR (UK) organization.
