Acupuncture

During the past few years, acupuncture has become increasingly popular. This medical technique used to treat a wide variety of conditions by stimulating the nerves in skin and muscle, can produce a variety of effects including an increase in the body's release of natural painkillers - endorphin and serotonin - in the pain pathways of both the spinal cord and the brain. This modifies the way pain signals are received. But more than just reducing pain, it has a beneficial effect on health and patients often notice an improved sense of well-being after treatment.

Although most commonly used as a technique to alleviate pain and improve healing in soft tissues for musculoskeletal problems, for example - back, shoulder, neck and leg pain, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Acupuncture has also been used successfully for digestive complaints such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome, stress related conditions, hot flushes, weight loss, skin disorders, insomnia, respiratory conditions and much more.
