HR Advisor

Department: HR

Report to: HR Director

Wentworth Club is one of the world’s finest private members golf and country clubs, famous for its championship golf and three outstanding golf courses in addition to a luxury Tennis & Health Club.  The Club is surrounded and entwined with the Wentworth Estate, one of the most prestigious private estates in the London suburbs where may top golfers and celebrities have their homes.

We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and proactive HR Advisor to join our small, friendly HR team.  Reporting to the HR director, the role will provide first line advice and guidance to our diverse workforce, in addition to taking on responsibility for the recruitment function within the entire Club. This is a busy and varied role, where no two days are the same!  Thee job holder will also have an opportunity to get involved in many HR projects as the team transforms the business.

Key areas of activity will include:

Human Resources

  • Provide first line advice and guidance to our workforce on all HR policy and practices including maternity, paternity, flexible working etc.
  • Case management of complex employee relations including discipline, grievance and absence and contract variation.
  • Continually review and ensure our people policies and practice are up to date and compliant.

Recruitment

  • Consulting with hiring managers to ensure sign-off, understand the specific needs of the vacancy in terms of the role and ensure the job description is up to date and relevant.
  • Produce compelling and engaging job advertisements that will attract talent, optimised to reach the target audience.
  • Proactively research, identify and source talent using a wide range of sources and tactics including internal advertising, candidate databases searches, promoting our employee referral scheme, job boards, social media and as a last resort, agencies.
  • Screen and pre-qualify applications before shortlisting for hiring manager.
  • Coordinate and arrange telephone and face-to-face interviews and support hiring manager in the selection process.
  • Maintain our agency PSL, ensuring we have the best rates and suppliers in place.
  • Actively establish relationships with colleges and universities to promote the Club and create talent pools and pipelines.
  • Work closely with the HR Administrator to ensure the effective administration of offers, onboarding and induction.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • At least three years’ experience of working within a HR advisory role and proven recruitment experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of employment law and best practice.
  • Experience using a HRIS and comfortably using different systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build effective and trusting relationships across the whole of the Club at all levels.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail, thorough and diligent in getting the job done.
  • Effective in planning and organising time and priorities; unflappable under pressure.
  • Positive and optimistic outlook with lots of initiative.

Facilities Manager

About Us

What is the role?

Within the role of Facilities Manager, you will oversee a team of 7, which includes a Office Manager and Engineers. Key to this role will be focusing on forecasting and actively monitoring annual department budgets, with the ability to prepare and implement an annual business plan with strategic objectives. As well as preparing, implementing and managing preventative, planned maintenance for multiple assets within a wider portfolio.

Ensuring the management of both hard and soft facility management services throughout The Club, ss well as service contract renewals through competitive tendering process, negotiating T&C’s to ensure the best outcome, therefore demonstrating a strong commercial skill set.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced Facilities Manager who has worked within the leisure or hospitality sector, who can help lead and develop the performance of the department, with a fantastic eye for detail to ensure the highest standards are met as well as providing a strategic, business led and proactive management of our facilities to optimise performance of Wentworth Club. You will need to be highly organised, with strong communication skills and a confident attitude to engage within the team and throughout Club itself.

Health Club Chef (Tennis & Health)

Job description:

As Head Chef you are responsible for researching, planing and delivering a healthy, nutritious menu that reflects the needs and expectations of our members., current health trends and seasonal variations. This is a fantastic opportunity for a chef at Senior Sous level who has an interest in health and nutrition, engaging with our members in a open plan kitchen, expressing that passion for food.

The successful candidate will:

To provide clear recipes, illustrations and guidelines to assist in the preparation of all standard dishes. Training all Kitchen staff on the preparation and quality expectation of each dish.

To order all food products, using nominated suppliers and ensuring the highest quality produce is used at all times. Managing any deviation with Executive Chef.

Effectively manage all stock produce to ensure food quality is maintained.

Effectively manage a food safety system to ensure, legal compliance, food safety and quality ensuring all mandatory checks are undertaken and appropriate records kept.

As one of our Qualified Greenkeeper’s you will be responsible for producing excellent standards and the highest quality of work on one of our three 18-hole golf courses

The position is based on a 40-hour week, Mon-Fri, weekends are paid as overtime and worked on a rota basis; however, flexibility will be essential, particularly over the summer months and leading up to and during tournaments and maintenance weeks.
