Health Club Cafe Waiter/Waitress

We have an exciting opportunity for a hardworking, dedicated team player to join our vibrant Tennis & Health Club on a full time, permanent basis. You will be a part of the team delivering world class dining experiences to our members, our members love it in the café and the delicious food proves that healthy eating does not have to be a chore!

You will work 40 hours per week over 5 days out of 7, on a rota basis between the hours of 6.30am and 10pm

Grounds Person – Seasonal Fixed-Term Contract – April to October

Wentworth Club is one of the world’s finest private members golf and country clubs, famous for its Championship golf courses in addition to a luxury Tennis & Health Club.  The Club is surrounded and entwined within the Wentworth Estate, one of the most prestigious private estates in the London suburbs where may top golfers and celebrities have their homes.  Our goal is to position Wentworth as the world’s premier golf and country club, and we need to hire talented people like you to get us there.

We how have an opportunity for a seasonal grounds person to join a small team dedicated to ensuring our grounds are maintained to the highest standards. You will be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the grounds and gardens around our club, as well as the maintenance of the tennis courts and surfaces. Reporting into the Grounds Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest of standard of landscaping and gardening is delivered on a day-to-day basis. This role will be for a period of six months, starting early April through to the end of October.

Key areas of activity will include:

Cutting grass (pedestrian and ride-on)

Operating equipment such as strimmers and hedge cutters

Leaf blowing and clearing of paths

Weeding, pruning, watering and planting

Maintenance of the tennis courts

Cleaning and maintaining equipment

Ad-hoc tasks as directed by the Grounds Manager

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Ideally you will have gained relevant experience in a landscaping role however, training can be provided for the right candidate with an interest in horticulture.

A flexible, can-do, enthusiastic approach to work

Able to work well with your hands and enjoy working outdoors in all weather.

Physically fit – some of the tasks and activities can be physically demanding.

Flexibility around working hours, we work on a rota basis here and some weekend work will be necessary.

Able to work autonomously and as a part of a team

You must hold a clean driving license – you’ll need to drive a buggy to get around the Club

A PA1, PA6, horticultural and/or a chainsaw certificate would be advantageous

Greenkeepers

Department: Greenkeeping

About Us

As one of our Greenkeeper’s you will be responsible for producing and maintaining excellent standards and the highest quality of work on one of our three 18-hole golf courses, admired by both Golf Pro’s and spectators alike.  You will also get involved with the preparation and delivery of the BMW PGA Championship – The European Tour’s flagship event.

We have a number of opportunities to offer, both permanent and fixed term, including Senior Greenkeeper, Assistant Greenkeeper, Trainee and temporary Intern Greenkeepers.

The positions are based on a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday as well as weekends, worked on a shift rota basis. However, flexibility will be essential, particularly over the summer months and leading up to and during tournaments and maintenance weeks.

Knowledge, skills and experience:

 Depending on the role, we will be looking for the following:

Ideally a minimum two years’ greenkeeping experience –  for the Assistant & Senior Greenkeeper roles

NVQ Level 2 Sports Turf Management Qualification –for the Assistant & Senior Greenkeeper roles

PA1, 2 and 6 Spraying Certificates –for the Senior Greenkeeper

CS32 and CS33 Chainsaw Qualifications – advantageous

Full valid Driving Licence advantageous

Assistant Mechanic

Wentworth Club are searching for enthusiastic Mechanic ideally with some experience to support our Head Mechanic in day to day duties and take on the responsibilities of the Head Mechanics in his absence

You will be responsible for producing excellent standards and the highest quality of work to support our teams on our three18-hole golf courses, admired by both Golf Pro’s and spectators alike. What is the role? 

This is a full time role working 48 hours over 5 days out of 7, on a rota basis.

A dedicated, hardworking team player to join the team in this vital role which is essential in the delivery of a world class dining experience.

As a member of the Restaurant supervisory team you’ll support the Assistant and Restaurant Manager in delivering a consistently excellent experience for our Members and their guests, as well as support the team by living and breathing the values of Wentworth.

You’ll be responsible for delivering experiences in three distinct spaces, namely the Club Lounge, Conservatory, and The Dining Room, the pinnacle of Wentworth’s Food and Beverage offering. This variety ensures that no two days are the same, yet provides a Wentworthy challenge to quick thinking, dynamic and flexible. A curious mind with a strong hunger to learn will support you in the challenge of adapting to three different menus and styles of service in a day.

People development is key to the success of the greater hospitality industry, and in this role you’ll be leading a team of waiters in your section, giving you an opportunity to develop your people management skills with the support of seasoned industry professionals who will guide you forward in this next stage of your career. Previous experience as a guest facing waiter for a minimum of 12 months in a similar 5* environment is absolutely vital to the successful candidate.

Creche & Junior Lead (Maternity Cover)

Job description:

To assist the Programme Manager and Deputy Club Manager in development and delivery of a comprehensive junior and infant programme, including special club events for children of all ages across the club up to the age of 15 years.

Key accountabilities

To be responsible for the delivery of a safe caring developmental environment for the children of both members and guests which adheres to current legislation requirements.

You will be responsible for the supervision of all Crèche and Junior staff including, motivation, training and performance.

You must ensure all Crèche and Junior staff maintain high standards of hygiene, appearance and dress code.

You will help support the Deputy Club Manager in the training and rostering of the Crèche and Junior team in the provision and development of the Children’s Activity Programme and special events for children of all ages up to 15years; not limited to children of Crèche age.

You will lead and deliver all special events, adjust rota’s accordingly to accommodate event staffing and delivery and actively seek ways of including all children up to the age of 15 years into the Junior programme of events.

You will co-ordinate all Crèche and Play-scheme administration (time sheets, rosters etc), including the provision of attendance figures for the Deputy Club Manager.

Procurement Manager

Report to: Finance Director

Key areas of activity will include:

Developing and executing the strategic procurement category plan.

Managing the sourcing the best in class suppliers, ensuring optimum supply-based for the Club.

Negotiation of optimum, sustainable terms with suppliers to deliver commercial targets.

Building and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships, both external and internal across the club.

Monitoring category performance against competitor and industry benchmarks, responding promptly to market and performance changes.

Maintaining accurate and up to date contract and product data documentation, adhering to all legal and compliance requirements.

Continually monitor, benchmark and evaluate the performance of contracts to ensure they meet the needs of the Club, and activities meet agreed SLA, identifying opportunities for improvement.

Ensuring the Club purchasing systems is up to date with products and pricing to facilitate is smooth operation.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Personal Attributes

Previous experience in a procurement management role would be preferred, however, this role would also suit someone with sound experience in procurement, ready to make a move into management.

Excellent financial analysis skills, able to gather, manipulate and present large quantities of data effectively.

Ability to influence key business processes including the timing and co-ordination of deliverables.

Excellent time management skills, able to priorities effectively and meet agreed deadlines.
